    Arranging photos


    I want to rearrange some of my pictures in Windows picture library folder. I know I can arrange them by date. But what about just in an order I want them in? Something that is not in the presets. For example I want these arranged by YEAR.

    You could apply the year as a tag for the picture and then sort by tag. If you have many pictures this may not be feasible though.

    Another alternative is to create a folder for each year and put all the pictures for that year in the folder by dragging and dropping.

    Mark the pics you want to rearange, right click, rename, for example vacation 2009 and hit enter. After that you should have something like vacation 2009(1), vacation 2009(2)....

    Change the folder view to Details, click on the column bar, click More, scroll all the way to the bottom, and select Year, or choose from the numerous other options there is to help sort your files.
