    HELP! cannot view pics

    hi all
    im using windows 7
i had this problem about an hour ago
i used WINMEND folder hidden software to hide my personal pictures folder
the software run well for 2 months
but when i open it a few hour ago to UNHIDE the folder to view the files
there is no list for the folder i hid
i uninstalled then reinstalled the software but still no hidden folder list
then i tried all steps suggested on the net
such as renewing registry for hidden, show hidden folder, using finddata etc.
then i found this software, PANDORA RECOVERY, installed and the recovery process run well with perfect image preview of all my hidden folder at the time the software trying to recovering the pics
the recovering process finished then i recovered it into a different folder
but only a few pics can be viewed and the other >1000 pics corrupted with the message :
"windows photo viewer cant open this picture because either photo viewer doesnt support this file format, or you dont have the latest update to photo viewer"
but all the pics are in jpeg format
how come the photo viewer can read the format?
i installed a lot of image viewer software but none can view the pics
    help me please....
some of those pics are memories of my late friends

I just looked up WINMEND.com and found a free program for hiding directories.
Have you conatcted them and asked the question?
It sure isn't a name brand I have heard about.

    It says...
WinMend Folder Hidden is a free file/folder hiding tool. While ensuring the absolute system safety, this application can quickly hide files and folders on local partitions and/or on removable devices. The hidden files/folders will be safely hidden whether the drive is accessed in another operating system on the same computer or reinstalled on another computer. You can set a password for this application. Hidden data can be displayed and unhidden only when the user enters the valid password. The data is completely invisible to other programs or on other operating systems. However, please keep in mind that this application is for home use only. It’s not recommended for commercial settings where more strict confidentiality is required.

Scan your computer for viruses, I had similar problem as you, (I wasn't using third party software,I just had hidden folder with pics) had XP back then, but same problem as you have, I've found the pics via search (there was some option for searching hidden folders or something like that), but I wasn't able to recover most of them, now I can't remember what kind of pest it was, but it was responsible for that particular problem. Maybe that's not true in your case, but it doesn't hurt to scan your PC right? (try with some of this: MSE, Avast, Hitman, Malwarebytes...a lot of guys around here are recommending them)
re image your system partition, system restore, is that option for you?
wish you luck with your problem
    cheers

    Recover again the pictures

I had same issue before, recovered pictures is either half gray, or not viewable. I tried many programs, then asoftech photo recovery helped me. You may try that also.
