Windows Media Player 12 not installed correctly

WMP12 was so slow at scrolling down my libary, that I decided to downgrade to WMP11, which unfortunately didn't fix the issue, so I decided to try and get WMP12 back, and it now everytime I try to open the program, it says that it's not installed correctly and needs to be re-installed. I tried using that trick with the features, but it didn't work either :/ How can I fix this?

    Hi and welcome.
By any chance have you tried restoring to an earlier RESTORE POINT that can get you back to WMP12?

Not yet, a bit afraid I'm gonna lose all of my files. Took me hours to get the files for the computer. I just got it last week.

    Thanks BTW :)

A restore point won't delete your files :)

Yes. Just go back in and click "Undo System Restore"

homework and other stuff kept me from trying it out, and now I can't restore back to when I first got my PC, so that means I'm stuck with WMP12, corrupted. No other way to do this, besides a system restore?
