    Windows Media Player with Flac?

I have w7 x64 installed and I can't get flac files to play on WMP. I am using winamp for now but I would really like to keep WMP as my music player. Any help?

Hi, you should find the plugin for WMP at:
    FLAC - download

Go to player & plugins => windows => direct show => and Download "Coreflac".

When you gonna open the flac file in Wmp it will tells the player doesn't recognize the file. Click ok, then it will open in wmp to play. (looks a normal attitude)

humm, does the files appear blank iconed?

I guess you need to download the "flac frontend" at the same page.

They don't show up at all when I add the folder with the flac files, but they play if I select a file in the folder and double click. What can be done?

look for a folder in the Library entitled 'Unknown'.
Artist, Album and Genre, all have it.

They are probably added to WMP's Other Media section instead of to Music.

To have library and tag support for FLAC in WMP, you need to install the WMP Tag Plus plug-in. Remove the FLAC files from Other Media, then install WMP Tag Plus, and finally re-add the files (Tools - Advanced - Restore deleted library items in WMP).

I decided to use media monkey. I didn't want to do any work arounds with WMP just to get flac files playing and showing up in the library.

The only issue now is Media Monkey not behaving properly with UltraMon. Media Monkey seems to use some proprietary titlebar system and the name in the taskbar won't show up in the correct monitor. So I am still on the look out for a new media player. Winamp doesn't work since it too uses a non standard menubar and won't work with the Win+Left/Right options.

    Any suggestions?
