6.1. is only half of the story. It should be 6.1.7600. Open an elevated command Prompt and type cmd. That will tell you.

Yep, thanks guys. It's 7600 Build all right.
Now if I could only find out how to determine the version of WMPlayer I'm using...
PS I've tried properties. And right click. And help. Cannot navigate to "About" though
Try Help in the WMP window and then go to "About ....".
I have been trying this. The help button is "?" right? When help opens up I get a winwows help box, but no "About" option.
thanks whs, but I don't have a menu (File, View etc) in WMP.
i'm as baffled as you, believe me
how do i snapshot my screen and i'll send you?
OMG thank you, that's where it went :)
So it's WMP 12.0.7600
I don't understand why i'm getting the message (from this Setanta site: Webcast System Test)
The system check gives report as follows:
Required version of Windows Media Player is not installed Your current version of Windows Media Player is 6.3 .
To install the most resent version of player visit Microsoft site .
Perhaps you'd try the test and see if you can get it to work on your system?
Do I need to modify my WMP streaming?
No idea why that is not working for you. Works perfectly well on my system.
