    Need some help recording media


    Hi all i have a little problem, im trying to record the sound from a youtube video but everytime i try and record it with either audacity or sound recorder i get the message no audio recording device could be found, whats the cheapest option to get this sorted, i just wanna record a few things dont think i have a sound card installed but i do have a high def audio cable for my motherboard that is not plugged in

    any ideas?

    I have seen people use a cable from the headphone jack to the mic jack using audacity.

    Im not to sure what you mean mate, i cant select anything from the drop down menu in audacity some im guessing i dont have the right thing installed all i have is output speakers

    Just to make things clear recording things off of YouTube that you have not own and/or have explicit permission from the copyright holder for anything other than temporary personal use in most countries is illegal.

    To record sound off of YouTube Videos you must either have a 3.5mm jack male to 3.5mm jack male connector plugged into your microphone/line in port and speaker/headphone port for it to receive the Audio signal from your PC as an audio input which you can then record using an audio program of your choosing or a much more straight forward way is to use YouTube to MP3 Converter - Video2mp3 .

    No problem, and were you really supposed to be recording in the Royal Albert Hall?
