Artist shows up in 'folder' view not in 'artist' view

For some reason in the Music library a few artists are missing when I have the view of 'artist' and their corresponding albums are missing too.

How ever when I have the view of 'folder' the artist's folder shows up fine... Any ideas?

    See attached images.

    Folder View:

    Artist View:

Anyone have an idea why this would occur? The artists show up in iTunes and WMP12 (after I deleted the database though)

    Thanks....

It could be that the VisQueen folder is referred to as Unspecified in the artists format. There's no unknown artists folder in the folder view so I can only surmise that the VisQueen folder's artist information isn't there.

BTW, Thievery Corp rocks my socks!

Artist view gets its information from the tags not the folders. You also may want to double check the permissions and the tags for errors. I had missing songs a while back because the tags were all messed up.

    Thanks for the replies...

The tags seem error free. Plus they show up correctly in WMP12 and iTunes fine.

Not sure what permissions I would need to change. I looked quickly and compared Visqueen's permissions/owners compared to an artist that shows up fine and they seem identical.

    Hmmm....

Well figured it out... In the advanced attributes of the files, the "Allow to be indexed..." check box needed to be checked.
