Windows 7 Wordpad - Inserted picture wrong size

When I insert a picture into Worpad the image size is wrong. eg if the picture is 6.2cm across (@300dpi res) it appears as 19cm wide in the A4 Wordpad page. I can insert the same image into an MS Word10 A4 page or Open Office A4 page and the size is correct. Of interest, if I insert the same image into a MSWorks A4 page it is the wrong size also. Can anyone offer any reason or suggestions for this? I checked the size and res of the image in an image program (Irfanview). It is in .jpg format.

If you right click the image in Wordpad it can be resized.

Thanks, Roderunner. I was aware of the ability to resize the pic. but I was looking to see if anyone knew if this was a program bug or if I had missed something. It is weird that the same thing happens in MS Works. This leads me to suspect that the new Wordpad has its origins in MS Works.

I don't have this problem. Must be a local error.

Thanks whs. Your post prompted me to do some further checks - and yes, the pic does get inserted at the correct size IF the resolution is changed from 300 to 96dpi. So, it would appear that there is a bug in the software. My version of Wordpad is V6.1 Build 7601 SP1. As I mentioned initially, the 300dpi pic gets inserted at the correct size in Word10 and Open Office3.3.
