how do i record live internet streams using media player

n

how do i play dvds copied on hard disk, when i goto file open in media player, it shows me vedio_ts folder and then files in it.............

I don't know about media player but i think VLC media player can do it

is there also a way to watch channelsurfing.net & livestream.com in media player n record them. all i see in media center internet tv is programs listed by microsoft

Windows Media Player doesn't support this feature but there are other Applications which does.

i tried vlc 1.0.5 for channelsurfing.net/watch-mega-movies.html, and it didnt work at all. no error messages. tried both play and stream options. i have read the documentation at Documentation:Play HowTo/Basic Use 0.9 - VideoLAN Wiki wanst much help
