GIF files not moving on Windows 7 Home Basic?

    Hi to all.

I noticed that whenever I tried to view any .gif (animated) files, they're not moving. It should be move by viewing a windows live photo gallery or windows photo viewer.

Just like in 'ol Windows XP, all .gif files I clicked to view, they're all moving since they're all animated format like for example smileys are all gif's.

Is there any program(s) (any third party programs will be the last resort) that can view any gif files or sort of activating the windows' viewer to make these GIFs move?

    All help will be appreciated.

Beginning with Vista, MSFT won't show the animation in certain programs.
You can see them in IE, or you can download and use IrfanView to view them...

All you can really do is open the .gif in your web browser, or try out XnView or IrfanView

    Thanks to all replies.

Unfortunately, I already have those and that's what i'm using it since I cannot view those GIF files straight from windows graphic viewers.

What's this odd happening to W7's graphic viewer and can no longer view animated images like GIF files?

Any of our guru's can explain to this?

    Thanks.
