The only thing I did to the original clip was to cut the first few seconds out as that was where the capture process started and just contained some blank frames and gobbledegook. That started the clip at the main film opening. I then just shortened the clip to make uploading to the server a bit quicker. Absolutely no other editing at all. Just rendered to the DVD folders.
What I found with the original clip that I downloaded was that the sound was fine. No hissing at all. I tried it on my two PC's and my laptop and on a friends' PC all the same. I could only conclude that it was a problem with Spottedfeathers sound card or speakers on his laptop. The way to check this SF is to try a pair of headphones connected to your laptop. If the hissing is still there then it is the sound card. Installing up to date drivers might help this. If the hissing has gone then it is the actual speaker in the laptop that is at fault anfd there is precious little you can do about that.
Have you managed to burn the DVD folders to a disc and try that in a DVD player attached to a TV?
If any other member is prepared to download the two DVD folders, burn them to a DVD and try that in a PC and/or TV that would prove the point. Just post here and I will PM you the link to the download.

I just tried the file with headphones, and other than a slight hum from being a mono/old soundtrack, I didn't noticed the hissing and buzzing. If I'm ever able to get a dvd, I'll try burning it.

Then I think we are safe in assuming that you have a problem with the speaker in your laptop. Just out of interest how old is the laptop and have you tried a music CD in the D Drive?

The computer is only a month old, two at the most. I've played commercial cds, burned cds, and had no problems. I really think that the speaker is just either too small or just not good enough and can't handle crappy, old audio. I guess that I can burn the files to a dvd and watch it that way. I guess I'll have to save up to get some dvds.

Blank DVD's are so cheap can you not beg one from a friend? If you were in the UK I would happily post you a couple. I guess you might be one of our younger members so perhaps some kind soul will give you a disc just to close this thread. When you do eventually get a disc be aware that whilst it will play on your laptop the hiss will still be there. Best to play it on a TV!

If I had any friends, I would ask. But I have none. If anyone wants to close the thread, go ahead.

Of course you have friends. What about all of us? Fill in a few more details on your User CP giving a guide to your age and the area where you live in the States your actualname (Just first name will do) and sit back and see if a "Kind soul" offers you a DVD via a PM!
