I don't think there is one for windows 7 as it is built in. What happened to the player that was on it anyway? just google wmp12 and check the results. i have just done it but can only find it for xp and vista. You could try system restore if you have uninstalled or whatever you have done to not have it now. Or if that doesn't work you could try repair install. There is no installer or method of reinstalling WMP12, You either have to use System Restore or a System File Check (sfc /scannow) to restore WMP12

If you've uninstalled it you can get it back by control panel -> Programs -> Turn Windows Futures on or off
Check the selection next to "Media Features" or expand that tree and select Windows Media Player (if you only want the wmp) | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 7100 RC 1, Windows Vista 64, Windows XP, MAC OS X 10.5.5 CPU Intel E8400 Motherboard Asus P5Q3 Deluxe P45 Memory 4 GB Corsair DDR3 Graphics Card ATI 4870x2 Sound Card Asus Xonar DX Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2405 24" widescreen Screen Resolution 1920 x 1200 PSU Zalman ZM-850 Case Antec p-180 Hard Drives Western Digital VelociRaptor 300 GB, Samsung Spinpoint F1 1 TB Internet Speed 24 mb/s Other Info Laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad T60, T5600, 3 gb RAM, Western Digital Scorpio Blue 160 gb HDD, ATI x1400, 15" 1400x1050 FlexView screen.

i would imagine it would be possible to extract them from the disc if you know what files you needed. i havnt done it in a while, but we used to do it all the time in the shop i worked in on win 98, and early xp. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Homebrewed OS Windows 7 RC1 build 7100 X64 CPU AMD Phenom II 940 Black Edition 3.0Ghz` Motherboard Asus M3N78-VM Memory 4Gb Graphics Card Nvidia 8200 mGpu, Nvidia 9800 GT discrete Gpu, Hybrid SLI Sound Card Creative X-Fi Extreme Music Monitor(s) Displays Emprex 26" connected over HDMI Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Keyboard logitech wireless basic Mouse logitech wireless basic PSU Thermaltake tr2-430W Case Antec Micro Fly Silver Cooling stock Amd Hard Drives 80gb western digital IDE-windows 7 drive

It wouldn't make a difference if we did, You still need to run a System Restore and a System File Check to get it working regardless

Since Vista, The Install DVDs use a new format called WIM or Windows Image Format and you would need to downlaod the 1GB Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) for the tools to Extract the WIM file, decompress the required files and remake the Image
System Restore is the only way your going to easily solve what you did, It only restores your System Files not Personal Files and takes about 20mins | My System Specs

I wouldnt have thought it was possible to extract all the files. They could be all over the place and then theres the complex registry entries. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS Windows 7 Professional 64-bit CPU Intel E8400 3GHz Motherboard Intel DX48BT2 Memory Kingston PC3-10700H 4Gb Graphics Card XFX Radeon HD 5850 BlackEd. Steven What do you know... sfc /scannow is something new to me. What exactly does it do? I now have WMP12 again i just don't know how that thing helped!
EDIT: Love this site. Maybe i'll turn system restore on. I never used it in the past always turned it off. | My System Specs

EDIT: Love this site. Maybe i'll turn system restore on. I never used it in the past always turned it off. SFC just verifies system files have the same signature they did when built by Microsoft, any file found to have a different signature is replaced with the original file that has the correct signature
I used to disable System Restore myself, then I realized how stupid it was if you needed to undo something system-wide you just did...There is no performance penalty using it, it doesn't run while your using the system, the only downside is how much space you allocate for restore points | My System Specs | | Re-Install Media Player 12 problems?
