    Photoshop CS4 and external Hard Drive

    Hi everyone,

    I am completely new to this forum and would very much like your help. I have Photoshop CS4 and use Windows 7. (Both of which are new to me).

    I have my photos stored on an external hard drive and previously when I opened Photoshop CS3, I could open Bridge and navigate to my external hard drive and view all the files in bridge. I could open the files and view the photos within each file.

    I have two main problems now:-

    On CS4 I cannot see my external hard drive on bridge. Therefore, I am unable to view my photos in bridge unless I download from my external hard drive to the main hard drive of the computer.

    If I open the hard drive within Window 7 I can see my files but as most of my photos are stores as RAW, I am unable to see a thumbnail as previously.

    Any ideas please. Please reply in very simple terminology, as I am not very technically minded.

    Many thanks in advane,
    Doreen

    Hi Doreen and a warm welcome to the forum. Nice to have another lady member in the UK!
    Have a look at this thread, might help as Bridge should work in exactly the same way in CS 4 as 3. I have 3 but not 4.
    Try this anyway;

    Try going into CS4 and import the pictures from ext. hd. Just click on all the drives and see if this will open your Ex HD.
    I have to do that sometimes myself or I power down, put the usb EXHD in and then power back up.
