Windows 7 Connection Drop-Outs
Hello! Im new to the forums here & have quite the problem.
You see, not too long ago i got a new computer with windows 7 which was cool & all but for some reason I get these periodic connection drops! (Im not sure what to call it really, lag spike, freeze-up, connection drops, etc.) Its really only noticeable when im on Skype (my friends cannot hear me) & when I play a game that requires internet. From the few tests i have done with this all i have figured out is that it occurs every 5-10 minutes, lasts only a few seconds, is not caused by any background processes, & in the task manager 'Network tab' the network graph drops whenever this happens. This did not occur on any other computer in my house but maybe that's because all my other computers don't have windows 7.
Details:
-Im running from a laptop
-Wireless Conncetion
-My wireless card thingy model is "Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6250 AGN"
-Core i7
-Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
-A terrible download speed of around 200 K/B per sec.
-When ever I join a game like a TF2 server my ping will start off around 100 & slowly decrease until about 50-60 & stay like that.
-A test I did was I disconnected from my wireless card & once I disconnect the effects of the 'drop-out' happen except, obviously, they don't stop until i re-connect.
-I have disabled any power saving options, disabled IPv6, & re-installing the driver.
(I dont know much about computers so this as much as i can tell you)
-When the 'drop-out' happens it still says im connected to the internet
Please help me & if I haven't given enough detail about my computer please ask & I will try to find it.
All answers appreciated
