Wireless keep losing access to internet

Hi everyone. So recently these few days I've been having some problems with wireless connection in my laptop. Whenever I'm browsing the Internet or using YouTube etc., I'll suddenly lose access to internet even though I'll have full bar connection.

I'm using a HP G62-358 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I've been using it since 2010 until now and this problem only just came up recently. There are 5 laptops including mine that are in the house using the same wireless network. However, only my laptop has this issue.

This problem only happens when I'm on the net. When this happens, I had to either disconnect from the network or turn off the wireless LAN adapter and wait for a few minutes. When I reconnect or turn on LAN, I'll have access to internet again, however not for long.

Is there a way to fix this? Let me know if you need any more information.

Have you tried updating your wireless adapter either from HP's web site or the wireless adapter vendor? Here's the link to HP's site for driver support.

I think your router might be switching from G to N or back. When you have multiple wireless computers if they have different Wireless standards (like 802.11G and 802.11N) then this could happen:

If a computer is turned on that uses G, the router will switch to G to use that standard. and if another computer tries to access with N, the router will then switch back to N. when this happens, the computer using G, will lose connectivity. turning the wireless on this computer off and then back on will send a new request to the router that will then switch back to G.

I don't know if this is your case or if I got that written out correctly, but this might be what is happening....

I don't think it is the router problem because this happens even if I'm the only one using the Internet.

I have had this happen to me as well...what worked for me was to uplug the router for one minute from the AC outlet and the plug it back in and let it boot up...try that.

More than likely this problem is caused by your neighbors using bandwidth from your channel, this can cause disconnections on a regular basis.

Changing the wireless channel in the routers settings can help, especially if you know which channels your neighbors are using. Xirrus WiFi inspector is good for that.

I think what he means is the channel you are using is also being used by your neighbor. He isn't using your router, but both your's and his are on the same channel: ( look at step 6) How to improve your wireless network and boost its signal

You are actually mistaken and don't understand the situation here. Thorsen is quite correct.

There is no password for channels overlapping each other. If you want the situation to improve I suggest you follow my advice. :)
