Windows 7: Sharing Apache folder htdocs

I have installed Apache web server on my Windows 7 machine, with the folder htdocs used for the html/php etc pages. I want to share this folder with my Windows XP machine.



I have set up sharing according to all the instructions I can find, and on my XP machine I can successfully access other folders (such as the documents, music, etc 'libraries'), and I can see the htdocs share in My Network Places, but when I try to access it, I get a message something like "You do not have permission to access... Check the permissions with your administrator... Access denied."

I have the same user name and password on both computers, and the workgroup name is also the same for both (WORKGROUP).

Maybe it's related, but originally I couldn't save files to htdocs even on the Windows 7 computer - I had to change the permissions so that users (not just administrators) had full permissions to the folder. But that permissions setup doesn't provide for users on other computers - only on this one.

What have I missed?
