Connectivity Issues
Ok, I'll start by saying that I have trawled the internet for weeks attempting to find a solution to my problem, and have tried so many things that I've finally decided to just ask for some help. Furthermore I am sure this is a computer problem and not the router or ISP, as all other computers on the network work, the problem persists on multiple networks, and as the problem computer is the only one running Windows 7, I believe the issue lies within the OS somewhere.
Here's my problem, it comes in two parts. The first is with my wireless connection (Using a Netgear WN111v2 Wireless Adapter to a Netgear DGN2000 Router) , which works fine most of the time, but if there is too much traffic going through it, e.g. downloads plus streaming plus online gaming, then it goes to limited connectivity. I've read a lot of forum posts with a similar problem to this one, with solutions suggesting turning off IPv6, disabling the IP Helper and a plethora of other things, only one of these seemed to help, which was disabling the NetBIOS over TCP, however this only seemed to increase the amount of data allowed to be transmitted before the same disconnection problem occurred. I previously experienced this same problem using a different router (a Thompson) and a different ISP, in a different location. However, since changing location I am unable to use any games online; while it will appear that I am connected to the internet in-game, no games will be found, and no other users recognised as being online.
My second problem is using my wired connection (Using an Intel(R) 82567V-2 Gigabit Network Connection to the same router) where it fails to identify that there is a router there to connect to, and simply switches between "Identifying" and "The Network Cable is Unplugged" on the adapter.
I have updated drivers for everything, tried using older versions, gone through many apparent fixes that worked for other people with similar symptoms, disabled all firewalls and antivirus programs and yet I am still stuck with an inability to game online, or experience a reliable internet connection.
Any help or advice anyone could offer will be greatly appreciated, this problem is simply beyond my ability to diagnose or fix.
Thank You
