Live sync questions

Recently I have been experimenting with Windows Live Sync as a replacement for SyncToy in Windows 7. Presently, I use SyncToy to keep the files on 2 computers synced and to manage my backup to a couple of flash drives. I have 2 questions.

Using SyncToy it is a simple matter to sync folders on the HD and the Flash Drives (FD.) The FDs appear in Windows Explorer. Live Sync syncs the 2 computers beautifully, but, cant see the FDs when they are connected to the USB ports of the computer. The FDs dont appear on Live Sync web page under devices with the computers. Is there some way to make them visible here?

Second, SyncToy has an option called Echo that allows you to sync in only one direction. I like this because I use the second computer primarily as a backup for files on the first computer. With SyncToy set to echo I know that if a file is accidentally deleted from the backup on computer 2, the error will not cause the original file on computer 1 to also be erased. Is there some way to set Live Sync to sync in only one direction?

P.S. I can only use the standard version of Live Sync at present. The new beta version is incompatible with my Vipre anti-malware.
