    Connection problems

hey guys, I am a new member here...I gotta admit, I find this web TRULY USEFUL :)
I am running Win7 coz my Compaq didn't let me install XP
Currently I have 2 problems with my Win7 and I make 2 threads for them. First is about connection. It seems that I have a prob with ad-hoc network (comp to comp). I can get connected to the network, but I can't use the LAN feature that we can usually find in some games. While my friends, some of them also use Win7, Vista, Xp and can get connected and play just fine.

I have disabled all Firewall (Windows and Anti Virus). So ... any ideas what I should try, guys? Thanks a lot in advance.

Did you set up a work network, NOT HomeGroup network ?

How do I confirm that? I am not much of a comp guy, so I need guidance here, please :)

I find that currently my active network is Home.
And I didn't set up any work network previously.
