    Lost network locations

OK I am running an MSI netbook with windows 7 starter, please bear with me as I am a bit of a windows noob.

I had the machine setup so that I could see all the machines on my home network connected down the side under 'network'. They all belonged to the same workgroup and I could download and transfer files when all of a sudden they vanish, I have tried enabling file sharing and looking at the workgroup but to be honest I am at a complete loss, everything was working fine and then everything on the network vanished apart from a printer.
I can ping the ip address of the server where all the files I am sharing are, and if I put the local ip address into chrome I get a page I was playing with in a web folder coming up but that is it.

If anyone has any idea as to what might be going on please let me know.

I have comodo installed, thanks for replying.

I solved this after a days stressing and rolling back my pc, all I had to do in the end was reboot my router. What had me stumped was the fact that none of my linux boxes had a problem connecting and neither did my wifes vista machine.

Can I mark this solved somehow, it may help someone else to be not quite so much of a muppet.

BTW if anyone has any idea as to why this happened I would be interested.
