    Onboard WLAN network card?


    Is there such thing as a onboard wireless network card for desktop? I goggled it and it only mentioned laptops and stuff

    Pc's don't usually come with one but you can purchase them as either a USB wirelss adaptor or a PCI wireless network card.

    So are you saying there's there's no such thing as a onboard one, as in integrated with the motherboard.

    Even laptop WLAN cards aren't built into the motherboard as integrated graphics would be. The WLAN card is still a removable piece of hardware that can be replaced or added at any time. The card have to be designed differently from a desktop's (much smaller scale), but its basically the same thing.

    I would like the install my network card on my computer again, but the space between my PCI and PCIE slot is very close and i'm afraid it will affect my video card's temperature greatly.

    It won't. Maybe by a few degrees, but I doubt it will do even that.

    well what if the network card is touching the fan of the video card?

    There are motherboards that have this but they are usually quite expensive ($200+).
