i have a similar issue and i am only running MSE.
i did not change anything on my network. i do recall some MSE update popping up this week though.
i have a homeplug / wireless network which runs fine but this morning i can not see any of the three PCs only the network printer !
also when i open the network and Sharing Center, i only see the printer
    what should i check please?

Seems all remains OK and both computers remain visible to the Network Folder. Thanks again for your advice. Wish I knew how to give the big green tick to say all is done on this Thread, Oh Well.

well it seems i was mistaken.

fyi, i actually have a wireless linksys wag160n adsl router which is ethernet connected to my devolo home-plug network.
we were always using the devolo (wifi/ethernet) network and for reasons recently switched to the linksys router. as such we were able to continue to access the internet but the wag160n wireless part was not yet joined with the devolo home network. i noticed my PCs were visible again when i switched between the devolo and wag160n network so it was the windows updates that caused my problem. I redid windows homegroup connection and now it all works again for both networks.
