Laptop wireless internet not working suddenly
Hello guys
a very annoying problem I have eversince I got wireless internet in 2004. My internet just randomly stops working, mostly when I boot my laptop or when I get it out off standby. This is what happens:
I try to connect to my router, but Windows says "cannot connect to belkin54g" (SSID). The strange thing is, I had the same with my old Windows XP computer years ago, but back then I had a Linksys router. My current router is a Belking (no idea what model).
Also very weird is the fact that my internet monitor (I installed a Windows 7 desktop gadget) shows that the connection is being interrupted all the time. It goes from 33% signal strength to 100% in 3 seconds but after another 3 seconds the signal is lost and the gadget is displaying 0% signal strength. Though the LED on my router's WLAN is not red, nor are any other LED's colored red.
Can someone pleaaaaaaaaaaase help me out? I got this problem for years and years. I've also configured my network card not to go in standby modus whenever the laptop is in standby, this didn't work out the way I've hoped.
One more thing, once I am connected to the router and have access to the internet, there is no problem anymore and I can be online for like 1 month without rebooting or whatever. But sometimes when I reboot/come back out of standby it just doesn't work and I need to reboot again. Sometimes it still doesn't work after rebooting so I reboot again and then it is mostly working, but it is so *beep* annoying!
