problem with my wireless router

My laptop all of a sudden stopped automatically connecting to my router and when I tried to do it manually, it said it was unable to connect to router. So I ran a troubleshooting test and it said the problem was to the router. Here's my wireless router info:

It's linksys, made by cisco. It's a Wireless-G Broadband Router.
Model No. WRT54G2 V1.5

Also keep in mind that this just started happening a few days ago. My guess that it might need an update, but I'm not sure how to update it.

Hello Skillboy, because your router was working before the problem occured then most likely you can fix this problem by just resetting the router. You can either unplug it for approx. ten minutes or you can look for a small hole on the router that says "reset", push something into the hole to depress the button for a minute or so. It might also help to reset your modem as well.

You might need to go into the routers control panel settings and go through the wireless set up procedure again. You want to use the WPA2 security if possible. You should be able to get into the router's control panel by typing 192.168.1.1 into your browsers URL.

For updating the firmware try the link below, click on downloads upper right then go down to version and choose your version 1.5. You can also download update instructions there, "you need Adobe reader installed to read the .pdf.
