Windows 7 - Can't connect to Win 7 shared from XP

I never turn off my media center pc, I just shut off the tv. So when I turn my tv back it just goes to sleep mode after like 5 seconds because it can't find a video signal from my PC.

I also have sleep mode and turn off display are also disabled in the power saving options.

It's strange because I never had this issue on my XP 2005 media center setup.

Is the share for a Specific people or Group?

Check if that the share is actually shared and the allowed person's name or group is actually listed the box from "Choose people to share with" window.

Alright take into account im not completely tech savvy.

Its an FTP to the college server that holds a drive for each student that can be accessed using your specific username/pw

when i map the driver everything works like a charm but i get a message that says my password is invalid when it is the correct password.

You have not really completed the mapping, if you cannot get passed the security prompt. Are u the only one having this issue? and were u able to access this share in the past?

Do not map the drive. Instead, use FlashFXP software.

A free alternative is SmartFTP. SmartFTP - FTP Client
Another is Filezilla. http://filezilla-project.org/

FlashFXP is best though.

On the plus side, with this, you could now go on Efnet and tell anyone you want topsite access. Tell them TorrentG sent ya. lol j/k

I had this drive mapped on Vista Home (64 bit) prior to doing the install of Windows 7, i emailed my college tech help (pretty much useless) they said its because Cisco Clean Access Agent is incompatible with windows 7 even though it works just as well as it did on vista. Not sure if others are having the problem, as I am the only person i know here that has gone to Windows 7.
