Ok so everything was working fine with my computer aside from the occasional disconnection of the internet which was easily fixed by just restarting the modem and router (should be a way to fix that altogether but for another time)... that happened again today and when i restarted everything my ethernet adapter was unknown or PCI Device under other devices in device manager...
So i thought that should be fine just search automatically for updates in manager but that didnt work it came up with this message, " Windows was unable to install your pci device, Windows could not find
driver software for your device, If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit their website and check the support section for devices" again wouldn't be too much of a problem if i knew the manufacturer. Due to my ethernet getting fried in a computer storm and replacing with a old one of my uncles. Iv tried:
- Uninstalling the device and restarting my computer to see if detects the device and installs
drivers... most of the time does not even come up with installing
drivers or devices etc and just does nothing
- Downloading microsofts fix it tool from one of their error support pages and it comes up with "The
driver for the PCI device is not installed. Install the latest
driver for the device" then has apply fix and skip this fix... i choose apply the fix and it comes up with whats in the report i added.
- Scan for hardware changes and comes up with "Device driver was not successfully installed, PCI Device - No Driver Found X".
Luckily i can connect to the internet with the USB cable but i would much prefer to use the ethernet.
If you could help me or give me a solution it would very helpful
PS: Sorry for the long post but just wanted to try and it put it down as detailed as possible so you could have a better start on trying to figure this out.
