hello everyone. I ran into a problem yesterday and I've been helplessly trying to find a solution. I googled everything I could and read every possible related thread on forums but still I am unable to find a solution. I'm not too techy so bare with me.
I have a Lenovo G550 laptop that is running on Windows 7 32-bit and it recently caught a virus so I decided to restore it back to factory settings. Everything went smoothly until I tried to connect to my internet. I have Verizon and I use a router (Linksys Model:WRK54G). When I connect my laptop wirelessly to my internet, it automatically disconnects my desktop's internet that is wired with an ethernet cable from my linksys router. Once the the laptop connects, my desktop would say that the local area network cable has been unplugged (which is not) and my desktop would reconnect by itself BUT both my laptop and desktop still could not go onto the internet. I also tried to wire my laptop to the router; the exact problem occurs. My desktop is currently running on Windows XP SP3. Before my laptop caught a virus and I was forced to restore to factory settings, this internet problem never happened before. It was when I restored my laptop that this connectivity issue started. At first i thought it was a IP conflict but I checked, both IPs assigned to my desktop and laptop were different. Please help if anyone knows what I'm talking about
I'm running out of ideas.
