DHCP not working after Windows 7 Upgrade
Hi, I have a machine that used to run Windows Vista Home Premium, and it is connected to a LinkSys router using DHCP. It worked fine. Also, I have a Windows 7 Ultimate laptop that connects to the same router using DHCP, it works fine too.
Today I upgraded the Vista machine to Windows 7. After the upgrade, the DHCP no longer works. The network status keeps showing "identifying..." and never can connect to the router. "ipconfig" shows a private local IP address. If I manually set the IP address to one that is normally assigned by router (192.168.1.100) and set the router (192.168.1.1) as default gateway, then everything works, but as soon as I set the IP address back to automatic, then it fails.
What could the problem be? Thanks!
