HP 2730p tablet: no wifi access under win7 64bits
Upgraded two HP 2730p tablet PC from xp to Win 7 64 bits, i.e clean install.
File sharing on hard-wired local network and internet access through router are working fine.
However, can't get any wireless connection which I use on the road and at home.
1) Wireless network capability doesn't show in HP Wireless Assistant (on the other hand Bluetooth capability does show)
2) Wireless network adapter is not listed in ipconfig list
On one of the two laptops network card is not listed either in
3) Control Panel Devices Manager
4) HP Bios System Details
On the laptop which has a network card listed in the Control Panel Devices Manager (3 above), message says device is working properly and identifies it as Broadcom 4322AG. But the connection remains non existent.
Installed Driver is Broadcom 50.60.350.11 dating from Aug, 5, 2010. Also tried the previous version, both taken from HP support site for the specific laptop.
Windows services list shows Broadcom Wireless Lan Tray Service and WLan Autoconfig as started automatically.
Tried to get Windows 7 to troubleshoot the network. After 15 minutes, nothing had happened.
Is there another way to examine and troubleshoot all the parameters of a wifi network connection?
Have two books of respectively 500 and 800 pages on Windows 7 but neither cover this aspect in detail so I'd be very grateful for your guidance on solving this problem.
