Diagnostics Policy Service and internet drop

I have been having an issue over the past few days with my connection. It randomly dropps and reconnects or doesnt reconnect at all. When I try to run the windows diagnostics service it fails. I get this error every time I run it even if the internet is connected:

"The Diagnostics Policy Service is not running"

I even tried to start it in the services screen with no luck it just stops again. The only thing I have changed recently is I changed my network type from public to home and it gave me all the home sharing information, but I even tried setting it back with no help. I even tried system restore to 15 days eairlier with not luck.

I thought it was my wireless router ( Dlink DIR-655 ), but i disconnected it and went straight to the modem and it still had the same connect problems. I have my computer hard wired throught the wireless router then the router to the modem then to cable line atm. I seem to be able to get it on the internet eventually but everytime I turn my computer on ,it is on the internet then it drops and comes back a few min. later. I have even tried manually starting the Diagnostics Policy Service with no luck it just won't work either.Any help is greatly appriciated!

My status says IPv4 Connect: Internet
    IPv6 Connect: No Network access
    Speed: 1.0 Gbps

    if that helps.

Try the solutions on this thread.

    Diagnostic Policy Service start, stops

If these do not work, you should run an sfc scan to fix corrupted system files.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Of course, the DP service running or not running has nothing to do with your connectivity problems.

When in doubt reset your router using the small hole on the side of the router which is right next too where the router gets it's power "I have the same router".

The IPv6 disconnected message is correct as it's only used on the LAN.

If that doesn't work open a command prompt and type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew, these commands are if you are using DHCP, if you are still having problems type ipconfig /all and post the results here.

Well, so far my internet connection has not dropped lately, but I still cannot get the Diagnostics Policy Service to start working again. Does it matter if I am using a ssd or something. I don't understand why it just wont start working.

    Hello again Nakattk,
Ok one problem down, on to the next one.

For the diagnostic policy problem try typing sfc /scannow into your command prompt run as admin and then hit enter. Let the scan run until it completes and let me know if it finds any problems.

After that type "services" into the command prompt and scroll down to diagnostic services and make sure they are set to automatic.

I did the scan and it came back all good, but the diagnostic policy service still does not work. I checked and all 3 options in services that start with diagnostic are set to automatic.
