Hi, need to get some files FROM LEOPARD 10.6? Homegroup Homegroups returns an error.
Any idea how to get some files?
I have some files on the mac (everything connected via router) that I want to get on to the windows machine.
I saw, on the Mac, for a moment, the name of this (WINDOWS 7) computer, then it was gone, have file sharing turned on on the mac.
When I try to make a HOME CONNECTIOn, i get an error, tryed deleting idstore but that did not work.
Any ideas? Connected with a ethernet cable, couldn't figure it out.
Just need to large 2 GB files from MAC to PC.
Thanks

I don't use Homegroup, but I'm pretty sure it's only for Windows 7, meaning you can't use it to transfer from Leopard to Windows 7 or vice versa. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Airbot 2.0 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Core i7 920 (D0) @ 4Ghz, *26c idle *65c full load on air Motherboard Asus P6X58D Premium - Sata 6Gb/s - USB 3.0 Memory 12GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator -CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 at 1600MHz Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 -Aftermaket Accelero Xtreme Plus cooler Sound Card ASUS Xonar D2X Monitor(s) Displays 1 LG 24" Flatron W2453V-PF 1 Samsung 24" P2450H both 2ms RT Screen Resolution 1920x1080@60hz Keyboard Logitech Wireless MK700 Mouse Logitech Wireless MK700 PSU Corsair HX1000W Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Cooling Case Fans *3 230mm, *1 140mm/CPU - *Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Hard Drives 1 OCZ Vertex2 180GB SSD

Not sure about that, on the mac groups they are saying use a smb command, which if the machines are on the same network you type on the mac, smb://thenameofthePC and it works, problem on my end is I cannot create HOMEGROUPS nor can I get any of the advance file sharing settings to stick, example, if I turn ON DISCOVER network then click save and go back, it doesn't take.
Is there anything for windows like there is on a mac that repairs permissions or whatever you would call it for windows?
Thanks.
I'm thinking there is a problem with my install. The real nightmare is on the PC, I don't have a DVD drive and I can't burn the files onto DVD (pointless), as well, I have a MAC external FIREWIRE hard drive which I would have thought would show up in windows (it does, but only in MANAGE, but never as an accessible hard drive) so am running out of optiosn. I have to get these music files onto the PC for a project.
Any advice helpful

Every time I try certain things, I get an error, not all the time, but ever since I did a system restore, wish there were some REPAIR program like Apple has repair permissions, there is nothing quite like that for windows huh>? Leaps and bound experience above XP, different from Apple, but still pretty cool.. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Intel OS Windows 7 CPU D940 Intel Duo Core Motherboard Intel D945GTP Memory OCZ Platinum Graphics Card Nvidia 7600 256 GT Sound Card On Board but use external Firewire Monitor(s) Displays Dual Samsung Screen Resolution 1200x1078 Keyboard Apple Keyboard Mouse Logitech PSU Generiz 550 Case Can't remember but looks like a G4 Cooling Intel Fan Hard Drives Several internal Sata Internet Speed 1.5 Mega Bytes per second (cable) 15000 mbits |
