Win7 does not connect to XP-Pro network shares
Greetings all. As the title says, our Win7 desktop (with a wireless NIC) during boot up reports it is unable to connect to the shared network folders on our WinXP-Pro workstation (wired nic). After the OS is booted, we can left-click on the mapped drive (shown with a red X), and then navigate the folders without issue (also the red x disappears). Our other two WinXP-Pro PCs (also wired NICs) have no trouble connecting at boot up. I have read the many threads at sevenforums on the "unable to connect" threads, tried the suggestions given to the others and have not found a solution. One interesting point of observation, I do not recall others clarifying if this issue was occurring with their wired or wireless connected PCs.
So my question, Is this issue because the Win7 OS has finished booting before the shared drives are recognized as available to the OS?
If this is not the root of the issue, does anyone know if I replace the WinXP OS with Win7 OS (HDD rebuild), will the XP-PRO PCs have similar issue with accessing the shared folders on the Win7 PC ?
I appreciate any insight, guidance, and recommendation all may have in the matter.
