Wireless and wired issues
We recently upgraded our dell latitude d630 laptops to windows 7 pro. Throughout the building there are docking stations where staff can dock and login using Novell. We have the dell wireless 1490 cards set to disable when a wired connection is connected. Our issue is staff that shut down on the docking station and start up hoping to connect to our wireless connection. If a laptop is shut down docked (with a wired connection), undocked and started up, windows boots as if it is still has a wired connection. It is not until you log in locally to the machine does the wireless start up and then connect. Is there a way for windows to detect on startup what kind of connection it has? When this happens staff logs in locally, wireless turns on, connects, then they have to log off, then log back into novell. Thanks for the help and/or ideas.
