Working with NTLM (NT Lan Manager)

Hey there guys,

The place I work at used NTLM to authorize use of internet on the network (using our smart cards) and my problem is that not all applications figure this out. For instance, firefox is not preconfigured to handle our network, but by changing the proxy/ntlm settings it works. I'm also using teamview which automatically found the correct way to access the internet. Unforetunatly, some of my other programs just cant figure out how to authenticate themselves so they can connect to the internet. is there some way i can route all traffic through a program that can authenticate the packets and send them up to the server?

(Programs w/o NTLM Support) --[not authenticated]--> (Local program) ---[authenticated]---> (server)
