Have been reading many posts on many forums. Still can't get this to work. We have a healthy mix of Macs and PC's. My Windows 7 Home Premium is the central computer. (mine) I want my family using their MAC osx laptops to print on my HP M1319 connected to my PC. I have all the printer sharing options etc on the PC set and I have used the add printer on the MAC, clicked advanced tab, used both smb and lpd options. to no avail. also very difficult to access the correct driver. I tried to install the driver for the M1319 on the Macs - but it always hangs when it can't see the printer. Anyone have the one true answer!!?
Thank you

Is the printer attached to the Windows 7 via the USB port?

If yes:

Search the forums for Windows 7 and USB printing, you will find many many threads on this. Seems that Windows 7 does not share USB printers well.

My suggestion as I have given in other threads is to purchase a USB to Network device and put the printer on the network directly. Then all machines can print to it, plus you don't have to leave the Windows 7 machine on to print. Just my 2 cents, but is seems to work the best and will give you the least headaches
