    Error 691 PPPoE

I have struggling for the past few days to resolve this but have failed. Some help would be appreciated.
I connect to adsl via a D-link router via PPPoE connection, which in the past has worked no problem on my Win 7 laptop. For what ever reason now, each time I try to connect I get the Error 691 - The remote connection was denied because user name and password combination incorrect or authentication protocol is not permitted.........

I can connect with another windows 7 (test) laptop, so I know the connection is working!!
I reconfigured the router from scratch - no change
I deleted the PPPoE connection and remade it - no change
Yes - I have the username and password correct or I could not get the "test" PC to connect.
I refreshed IP addresses - no change
I can connect the offending laptop via my cellphone modem to the internet no problem.

    Please help!!

Given that the other machines can connect and this one cant I would suspect it isnt UID and Pword, but more likely the authentication protocol is not permitted.......... Can you re-check it to see is set as the others?

Sorry I cant be more useful
