Offline files (2 laptops, and Network storage)

Sorry if this has been discussed.
Ok here's what I am trying to do.
I have two laptops one Windows 7 (7127 x64) the other XP Pro(at the moment), and a Maxtor Family Storage II Network Drive.
I have the same profile setup on all three items.
I want all of the files in my library that I have on my Windows 7 machine to be copied over to the Maxtor Network drive.
Then I want the XP machine to copy the files from the Network to its self using the Offline option in XP.
Im trying to have the Maxtor drive keep the most resent copy of any file I modify on either laptop. That way when I take one of them with me when I return to my home it will sync up with the Maxtor drive and update those files always keeping the newest copy.
I would like to do this without having to add any third party software if I can. I have been trying for days to get this to work and it fails to copy any files to any of the other drives. If someone has a link to a Tutorial or anything that would help me get this that would be great.

There may be something in tutorial I dont know. There is so much there you are just gonna have to search. I had the exact same problem and the only solution I found was an app called folder match folder clone. It is a snap to set up folder match or clone to take anything modifed on the laptop (you choose the folder) and copy it to the maxtor. then run folder match on the xp and watch the folder on the maxtor. whatever is changed on the maxtor will be copied to the xp. Thats basically what you want to do right?

    Hope this helps

    I would do:
1 - Copy all files in the Matrox drive.
2 - Delete them from the Windows7 and Laptop machines (backup to DVD first maybe?)
3 - Go to the Matorx drive and find the directory you just copied.
4 - Right click on that directory. and create a Share.
5 - once it is in a Share, go to properties of the folder again. select ADVANCED SHARE
    6 - Click on CACHING
7 - Select "All files and programs that users open from the share will be actually automatically available off"
8 - Select "Optimised for performance"
9 - Click ok all the way back. and thats it

From then on you can go to the SHARED drive, even if you are not connected to the Matrox drive. use the files, and update them if necessary.

When you connect the Laptop, the files will Sync
When you connect the Windows7 the files will Sync

The only issue that may appear, is when both the Windows 7 and the XP system update the same file while offline.

then you decide what to do manually.

    I hope that helps you.
