How to send message to a local computer

Is it possible to send a message in home network. I have 3 windows 7 computer and all conntected using windows 7 homegroup option using my router(netgear). Is there a way to send a message to another computer user? I know "net send" in xp world to commnicate in the lan. I am not sure how it works in home network as there is not server concept.

I appreciate some one could able to help to find a way to my problem. I searched over the internet for a solution, nothing helped so far.

I also notice this link in the internet: Skatterbrainz Blog: Windows 7, MSG.EXE and Group Policy Preferences. Have to try this solution, but it looks like a big change on all the computers.

    MSG.exe with Homegroup

    Thanks,
    Praveen

Try msg /? in command prompt and go from there. I've never gotten it to work myself. Good luck.

Yeah i can't get this to work to windows 7 and vista machines that are on workgroups....anyone make it work? I just get error [5] and error opening Terminal server messages. I've tried the registry tweaks with no success.
