Mapped drive permissions not applying to subfolders

I'm accessing files on my Windows 7 machine via my Windows XP machine. Both are on the same workgroup and I have a user account on the win7 machine that I use for the sharing. I have one main folder on the Win7 box to share, and a bunch of subfolders within that main folder. I have setup the main folder to be a share, and can map a drive to that share with my XP machine (using the ID and Password I created on the Win7 machine), and I have full rights to the main folder, but read-only rights to the sub-folders. I have checked the permissions for the sharing account on the win7 machine and they are set to full control/all for the main folder and all subfolders (in the advanced security settings, the sharing account shows full access for "this folder, subfolders and files")
