Wireless network connection lost internet connection
Hi everyone,
I work in an office where we have a main desktop computer which is connected to the internet via a Time Warner modem. The modem is connected by cable to a netgear wireless router, and up until today there have been no problems connecting to the internet from the laptops that use the wireless connection.
Today, for no reason, with no changes, upgrades, or anything different at all, I am now getting the message that my laptop sees the wireless network, but claims the network has no internet access (not true; I am able to connect to the internet from the desktop, which is where I'm typing from). So we have internet coming into the office and the desktop, but suddenly the router isn't broadcasting the wireless signal any more.
I ran windows network diagnostics several times and I've gotten different responses, one said "wireless connection doesn't have valid IP configuration", another said "the default gateway is not available", and "tourbleshooting couldn't identify the problem". !!
I'm reasonably computer savvy and I can follow instructions, so does anyone have any ideas where I should start? Many thanks!
Caroline
