Using router for network authentication

Is there a way to make my router sign in to what is normally a portal page? Obviously it can't load a web page per se, but could it otherwise sign in with a username and pass?

Basically I would like to be able to have the router do the leg work for me, so I don't have to go all the way over to my pc to log in before I can use my xbox In my mind the technology is there to make my life easier :P

Information is appreciated.
