To make things more complicated win7 wlan

    Hi all,

I use a laptop with win7 64bit. I do not have any problems connecting to the internet wired and wireless. I can see the other computers in my network even my Nas. I do have problems connecting wireless to my nas but wired is no problem!?
The Nas managingprogram finds my nas and tells its ready with the assigned ip but the webUI doesn't load. I get a time out. I need this webpage to manage my Nas. Aproaching my NAS by FTP works fine. I also have a laptop running XP and do not expirience these problems there at all.

    Any ideas?

Maybe your router has a function to stop wifi access to port 80 ???

Try upgrading the security on the NAS if you can. I was having trouble with my SMB shares untill I raised the security to include password encryption. If you can't up the server's security, you can down grade windows' through the local security policies.

Local Policies > Security Options >

    1. Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication Level > Send LM & NTLM responses (Win95/98 level)
Send NTLM responses only (early Win NT/XP level)

    2. Network Security: Minimum security for NTLM SSP based servers/clients > Uncheck both options

There are similar complaints about this problem all over the internet, especially with wireless connections. I believe that the wireless security encryption is also part of the problem.

    Hi,

Thanx for your input but i didn't find anything what looks like your screenshots.
What do I have to doubleclick beginning with the startbutton. I really do find this a little silly.

I've been reading about this problem for over an hour, it's come up a few times before without a clear resolution. After reading a Technet thread about the same problem only one solution seems to be working.

There are many other works arounds for this problem in the link below but this one seems to be working the best. Hope it helps.

First start an administrator console by entering cmd into the searchbox on the start menu, right click the little icon and choose "run as administrator".

In the console enter the following commands to change the MTU:

Type into command window "netsh interface ipv4 show interfaces" without the quotes. Take note of the id number of the wireless interface.

Then to change to mtu 1460 use the following command.

"netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface id mtu=1460 store=persistent"
