Hmmm... I wasnt crazy! I felt it was slower with both wireless nics running and I was right. I was trying to see if Win7 would pool both nics. Here is with only the OEM Toshiba built in wireless connected.

Again, remember my ISP account is rated at 10 Mbps up - 5 down

I redid the test three times, each time it was under the first time...

I can't complain about my connection, laptop wireless G, netgear router and I am paying for UP TO 7 Mb/s so I like my test results but would love something above 20.

What a Difference a Phone Call Makes...

OK, so the other day when I posted I was wrong in what I said. My current package from Charter was 10mbps Down and .5mbps Up... not 5 Up as I stated! What a difference a . makes! LOL!

I got an email last night from Charter about them automatically doubling our upload speeds and giving us a feature called Powerboost which is suppossed to give us a "burst" of speed when we DL, see below:
-charter-powerboost.jpg

So I reset my Motorola Surfboard modem and wala, upload speed doubled! Then I got to thinking and comparing other ISP's offerings in my area and that made me call Charter Customer Service.

I told the CS rep that "I've been with you guys for 11 years but AT&T has been sending me ads where I can get twice the speed I currently have for same price!" He did some searching and adjusting to my account and FOR LESS than I was paying I'm now double the DL speed!

Here's proof!

I'm so Happy!

Typically my download speed is around 16mbps or higher during the week. It takes a slight dip during the weekends.

I recently transitioned from windows xp to windows seven. I like all the perks of windows seven with the sleek look and advanced security but my internet acts very strange. I have an 8meg internet connection and it ran fine on xp. After installing I can't even get 1meg down. sometimes I only get...
