    Proxy Settings...effects instant messaging to keep get disconnected


    Hi all,

    Does blocking certain website using proxy setting will effect messaging software like yahoo messenger,msn,skye,google talk to disconnect frequently?

    I am facing this issue..instant messaging keeps get disconnected always?

    FYI,my MSN and Yahoo Messenger always gets disconnected.

    which IM program is getting disconnected? can you be more specific, or are you saying you have all of the ones you listed, and all are suffering?

    It very well can. If you have a proxy server, you are most likely on a corporate network, and should be thankful IM traffic is even allowed. If you aren't on a corporate network, why would you be using a proxy server?
