Windows 7 x64 Sharing With Windows XP

basically i have a problem sharing files with any Computer on my network and accessing any of the printers.

Okaii i have had my Windows 7 going since this june, Before that i had 7 x86 running and no problems with the Networking.

Now however i cannot access anything, i have this machine, (Win7) open and sharing files with NO password and the encryption is the 40-56 option.

The Workgroup is Set to the same thing on each and every machine so it is not that.

Now the Really strange thing, I can Access My Xbox through the router however it cannot access my PC, the same applies for my phone and PSP, however this is all it can access.

when i look in the advanced Network all i my pc can see is the Local Profile Shares and The Router.

Any Help With This What so Ever as i have college work to get printed...

I Have a D-Link 615 Router, i have tried using a Realtek 300N Wireless Stick, a Belkin 'G' and an Ethernet Cable Directly into the Router, No Joy With Any of them.

All drivers are up to date and the motherboard has its checks done for the Lan Port also..

As you can See a Real Struggle Here...

    Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

I had XP machines networked with my Win 7 machines starting back in Jan. 09 and never had a problem at all. Stange how so many people have problems with this.

I always just set up the workgroups and then ran the Network connection wizard on the XP machines and everything worked for me straight away. All I had to do was to enable the usual premissions and that was it.

As for getting older printers to work with Windows 7...good luck on that one, I ended up getting a new printer for that task. But maybe this post from Jimbo will help you set that printer up.

    XP to 7 Printer sharing

Go through this tutorial about sharing with XP, click on the XP tab, it should help.

This one is more general but has good info.

After going through all of that if you are still having file access problems try doing this registry adjustment on the Win 7 machine with the problem. Back up the registry first in case you get it wrong.

Solution is really easy just modify one key in registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
create or modify 32-bit DWORD: LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy
    set the value to: 1
