I con not find any computer in my network from my computer

    Hello
I can not find any computer in my network from mine.
We turned on my son laptop and mine, we synchronize time and everything. Since his computer he can see my computer.
He has windows vista and i have windows 7.
I don't know what to do.
Troubleshooting says is a network-related issue. I don't get it...

    Someone could help?

Does that mean some additional cost for me? I'm sorry for the question, but i'm in a overwhelming situation. Thanks and let me know.

Hi karibe. As ken says we should know more abut your system and/or your network, especially your network configuration.
But meanwhile, and assuming you have set the basic topics of your network, I suggest checking if both computers have the same workgroup name. If you don't know what is it, just post your doubts.

As you don't mention anything about your network setup, I suppose maybe you ignored some topics. First, check out if both computers have the same workgroup name. To see that in windows 7 follow this steps:

Note: the pics contents words in Spanish but it's easy to understand what to do however.
    1) Go to Start menu -> Computer -> Rigth clic -> Properties

    2) Check out the workgroup name, that I think in your PC is WORKGROUP as mine.

    3) Go to your son's pc and check out the same. Both computers should have the same workgroup name. If not, change it in one of them.

So let's go ahead setting the workgroup name in your pc if it's necesary.

Follow the steps above and then:
    a) Go to Configuration change

    b) Computer name tab -> Change

    c) Select workgroup option and write exactly the same workgroup name that appears on your son's computer.

    d) Apply changes and then restart pc.
Hope it may be your problem, because it's the most common issue realated with sharing through the network that people have, and it's prety easy to solve.

Anything, just post back. We are here to help others.
