    Wirless Router Says "No Internet Access"


    Hi everyone,

    I'm pretty new to this forum and i'm hoping you guys can help me out.

    I am using Windows 7 Home Premium x64, Wireless router is Nexxt, Nebula 150, Laptop Dell Ispiron 1545.

    My wireless router has been working perfectly up till about a week ago. Initially, the problem was my ISP, as when I troubleshooted it had said "DNS server error" or something to that effect. A few days ago however, the router has been presenting this issue. I am able to connect to the internet by connecting the modem directly to my laptop but when I hook the modem up to the router it tells me No Internet Access.

    Can someone advise me as to what to do?

    Have you rebooted everything at the same time?

    Have you reset the router to factory settings?

    have you rin ipconfig /flushdns from search? then ipconfig /renew from the same place?

    Rebooted and reset no difference
    ip config /flushdns : Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache
    ipconfig /renew: says media is disconnected altho router is connected to my laptop

    Run ipconfig /all from a command prompt and post the results here.

    Click on Start then Run and paste the following into the Run box, exactly as show, including double quotes:

    cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping yahoo.com >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

    and press ENTER.

    A file will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the contents here. Close the Notepad window and the file will be deleted and the Command Prompt window will also close.

    Please check Device Manager (Winkey+R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter) and see if there is a yellow mark under Network Adapters for the Wireless. Whether there is or not, right click on the Wireless and select Uninstall. If it asks about also deleting the drivers, reply NO. Reboot and Windows will rediscover the Wireless device and reload the drivers, that may resolve the problem.

    It looks like your wired connection is working, but the IP address is strange, 72.252.182.72(Preferred). Normally it's 192.168.xxx.xxx when connected to a Router. How is the computer connected?

    Looking at the Users Guide here it indicates 192.168.0.x is the IP address range to use which is why I'm curious about the 72.252.182.72 you show.

    Also, in Chapter 6 it tells you how to setup the Wireless so it might be good to go through those steps again.

    If not , try deleting the existing Wireless network setup:

    How to Remove a Wireless Network in Windows 7

    Reboot then try establishing a new Wireless connection. Usually you do this by right clicking on the icon in the System Area of the Taskbar and selecting View available networks or similar wording. See if that helps.

    It's also possible the router is now defective.

    You could also try doing a System Restore to before this problem occurred, see if that fixes it.

    You do understand that resetting the router is accomplished by pushing the hidden little button on the router? After that you need to set up the wireless on the router again, as in setting up the security which should be WPA-2 and AES encryption.

    That is the most likely fix for this problem so I suggest you start there.
