Problem connecting from Windows XP to Windows 7

First of all I'm sorry if my post repeats previous posts. I've looked more then 20 pages bud I didn't find the answer.

I need to connect 2 machines in network. One is Windows 7 RC1 connected with cable to the modem and then to router and the other is Win XP connected to the network wirelessly. I can see my both computers on two machines and even can access my Windows 7 machine from Win XP machine. The problem begins when I'm trying to access my Win XP machine from Windows 7 machine. I can see my Win XP machine but when I'm trying to access it I'm receiving an "Enter Network Password" screen. I have no clue what is it and what to do with it. I don't think I have a network password, because when I connect from Win XP to Windows 7 I"m not receiveng this screen.
There were some thoughts in here that the usernames and passwords on both machines should be identical. I have no idea how to do it. So can anyone explain to me step by step how to do it on Win XP machine and Windows 7 machine?
    Tnanks in advance!

you have to go to windows 7 click control panel network and internet home group then click "change advance sharing settings" at the bottom click "turn off password protected sharing" and your problem is solved :) I had the same issue spent hours trying to figure it out. :)

Password protected sharing is off. This was one of my first steps. The problem is not here.

You have to give permissions on the XP machine to use it.

Log in with the XP name/pass combo, or create a second user for the W7 to log into, that'll will let you see the shares being shared on the XP machine.

What edition of WinXP are you using on the other PC? Sound like you are using XP Pro. If so, and you what to use simple file/print sharing then you should turn on the Guest account on the XP PC. Open your Control Panel -> Users Accounts. Leave it off if your using XP Home. Your shares on the XP PC should be open to everyone as they should be on the Win7 PC. Now when you make file sharing connections it is handled by the Guest account. Also make sure password authentication is turned off. Your Win7 PC should be configured as a "Home Network". Give all this a shot.

Done all the above. Now I can access the XP computer, see the shared folders but can't access them. Made a trobleshooting and received this message: Your user account doesn't have permission to access "\\office\movies". What am I doing wrong?

You never said which edition of XP you are running. BTW, where does the "movies" exist on your XP PC? Does it live under a "user" folder on the Win7 PC? If so, move it under C: and see what happens.

Sorry, I meant XP PC not Win7 PC when referring to the movement of the "movies" folder.
