    Ipconfig 20 Adapters

Hi guys long fans of your work

I have 2 NIC outputs (from my motherboard) and i had recently installed VMware Version 14 (just to try something out to test for my friend), because of this virtual "tunnel adapters" were installed on the host operating system (please see my system specs).
I was not worried at this at the time as this was something that I had expected to see when I had typed in ipconfig (from the host OS not the VM) - I have seen this from some corporate servers awhile back.

Anyway, I have uninstalled VMWare Workstation v 14 and expected these adapters to go away, but they have not.

apart from disabling IPV6 (which I had previously done - and has made no difference) what should I do to remove these "tunnel adapters" since I did not have them before.
Is there a way to reset this???

Did you try uninstalling them? If you don't want to hunt them down in Device Manager, go to your network connections and right click the unwanted adapter. Go to Properties, then hit the "Configure" button near the top right of the (default) Networking tab. Under the "Driver" tab, hit the "Uninstall" button near the bottom. This should remove whatever driver is creating the adapter. You will have to refresh the Network Connections screen before it disappears. I can provide screenshots if you want. I tested this with Virtualbox and the Host-Only Network adapter it installs

First, do not disable IPv6. There are many reasons for this.

To get rid of the extra tunnel adaptors "common problem" go to device manager, at the top choose the "View" button then choose "show hidden devices" this will allow you to see all the extra adaptors and you should be able to delate them all. Delate as many as you see and msoft will create a new one after you reboot.

Most likely the VMware was causing problems.
