    Net dropping out/ BSOD PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

    Hi all,
My built in WNIC is dropping it's connection a lot and it's signal is very low. I also got a BSOD about 5 days ago (but not since). PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. 2 drivers attached afd.sys and ntoskrnl.exe. Both windows system files from what I can gather, which hasn't been much. Info on the forum suggests that this BSOD may be network related. Minidump is attached.

Does anyone know of any NIC diagnostic tools I could try to test the card?

At the moment I am using a USB wireless adapter and it's connection is much more stable and strong but still drops out on occasion.

I've been ill lately and don't have much energy left for trying to resolve the issue so I was wondering if you guys could take me through step by step which areas I should look at? Even pointing me to threads to read would help and would be mucho appreciated

    Steps taken so far:

    - Windows update
    - Manual drivers updates incl. chipsets/ BIOS etc
    - Tested without running firewalls/AV etc

    What I'm doing now:

    - Testing without windows updates.
    - Running MemTest

    Thanks again guys.

UPDATE: Running without windows updates has no effect.

    No DMP attached try these

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
    * Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Thanks, mini dump is attached now. I had forgot to reattach it when I moved this out of an older thread.

Try a system file checker from commandf prompt.

    SFC /scannow

Thanks for the reply but I was looking for more information regarding the cause of the BSOD. I've since done a respawn and the BSOD hasn't appeared since but I'm still having network issues.

Now it only happens when I play world of warcraft but my latency and fps are fine and it's not just throwing me out of wow, it's disconnecting my internet but not the router which is not something wow server issues could cause.

Other solutions I have tried since are:

    - run wow without addons.
    - set up port forwarding with static ip
    - checked settings on windows firewall and virus scanner; i'm about to try removing the firewall rules and restarting.
    - checked settings on router firewall; this I can't do much about because there is too limited space to add a rule for every port wow uses.
-changed wireless channel to 10 in case of interference; also tried 4 and 6.
    - removed power save mode from adapter settings
    - tried to run wow on WNIC and a desktop wireless adapter.

    -phoned alienware twice

Any help at all would be appreciated guys. As I said, I'm not well at the moment and this is something that's starting to really stress me out. Not so much because I can't play wow but more because I can't solve it and move on to other things.

I've noticed recently that responses to my posts are becoming rarer. If there is something that I can do to make them more easily understood or if I need to add more information, please let me know. This was previously a good source of help and knowledge for me and I would hate to lose it.

    Thanks again

Ok, I guess the community isn't what it used to be here. As I said I was a big fan of the support previously offered on this site but when the support goes it makes forums like these pretty frustrating and useless.

Thanks to those of you who did take time to read and respond positively to my posts, your help and effort was greatly appreciated.
